All For Animal Rights

Ever occur to you why some of us can be this much concerned with animals suffering? Because government is not. Why not? Animals don't vote.
~Paul Harvey

How many of you would say you'd help a stray find a home? Hundreds? How many are willing to give them a place at your own homes? Maybe ten? But how many of you actually care so much as to.. prove that you're human? Practically none.

You don't owe as much to them? They act as companions for the lonely, friends for the young.. and lifelines for the elderly. And you aren't supposed to do even a bit for them? The rights and duties are only for and by the people? The people.. demons in disguise. Cruelty personified.

They say, be compassionate. But they didn't say be compassionate towards the cratures who can't tell you what you're supposed to do. They don't revolt doesn't mean they like it. They don't have a government.. but good, there are no politics. It simply isn't their fault that they can't speak, but atleast, they don't blabber like the mindless humans we are.

See the sufferings of the hungry.. the homeless people. But Animals? Nah, they're not like us. We don't care. Even the most compassionate of humans can come to this point of inhumaneness which can put to shame any self centered person's ego. C'mon, think it over. You wouldn't even think about kicking a person on the streets. But a dog.. well, he's a just a dog. But you don't hate them.

The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?"
~Jeremy Bentham

It isn't Hate. It's Indifference.

Since you were born, you are being told how to live. You care tremedously when it comes to your own life. But just take time.. can an animal go to school and think about it's future? Can it apply for jobs? Can it get into MNCs? No. It isn't upto the animal. He just wants a place to call home.

From beasts we scorn as soulless,
In forest, field and den,
The cry goes up to witness
The soullessness of men.

~M. Frida Hartley
